The USUAL is not so USUAL

In the heart of the Bowery, this relative NYC newcomer offers a super sized breakfast that is anything but The Usual. Glad I didn’t fill up on the fluffy scrambled eggs, Greek yogurt and fruit because the star of the show is definitely the fried chicken! Not just any fried chicken, the paprika red batter manages to get perfectly crisp while the meat stays moist and flavorful on the inside.  

Nothing screams, “Weekend Brunch” like a pitcher of Mimosa to share and wait for the mini buffet to arrive. With big glass windows, it is a great place to people watch and shop at luxury boutiques. Ironically, twenty years ago it was impossible to catch a cab in this neighborhood because it was so seedy.

After guzzling down the last glass of Mimosa, my guest and I needed to walk off the huge brunch. We will certainly be returning to The Usual in the near future.
