A Day in the Life of a Barcelona Beach
The Mediterranean Day is long. It began with some shopping for Ceramic Art at the Barri Gòtic. If you like colorful hand painted serving pieces and dinnerware that can also double as art, this shop is a must. What’s more, the store offers modestly priced shipping, so you can continue to sightsee the neighborhood without being burdened by your purchases.
The lively Gothic Quarter has small Medieval Streets lined with trendy Bars and Restaurants where local Cava, or white Spanish Sparkling wine can be had for €2 or a little more than $2. That means it’s Happy Hour All Day and I couldn’t think of a better way to spend the early afternoon strolling and drinking.
After a tipsy walk back up the festive Las Ramblas, it was time to head back to the W hotel and hit the beach. Seems like everyone had the same idea because there was a wait at the elevator bank but it gave me a chance to snap a picture of the bustling Barceloneta Beach below.
Pizza by the beach was lunch with wine. Afterwards, I understood why everyone loves a little siesta in the late afternoon. To go the distance, this girl needed a nap.
